Antarctica science in foreign affairs ‘trade-offs’ due within months

New Zealand’s scientific work in the Antarctic will become increasingly difficult to run as reduced funding and higher costs take their toll, foreign affairs officials have warned.
News of the reduced capacity comes as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade prepares to outline to the Government what further “trade-offs” it will make, as it struggles with cost pressures and workload demands.
